Etcetera

For Christmas I got this amazing book Etcetera by Sibella Court. In the book she described decorating your home with all the things you love in an artistic way. When I read things like this I’m always like ‘well duh’ then I realize that a lot of people have a hard time doing this. It is strange that people don’t use the books, t-shirts, objects they love to fill their living space. Some people instead chose to fill their home with random objects from the Pottery Barn (don’t get me wrong I love the Pottery Barn). But all those decorating stores are a base for holding up and complimenting your personal possessions and passions. If you love the ocean, fill a bowl with sand and shells then whenever you look at it you will smile and think of the sea. Also when other people enter your home they will get a better understanding of who you are. Not just some generic candles and movie posters, standing in your home should be like standing in your head, surrounded by all your lovely memories.
