Stars

Here's a little bit of sentimental prose for you. (this is a bit out of my normal writing style so please indulge me)

************ ** * ** *

I always thought, probably because of my love of star trek, that if the stars were still in the sky I would be ok. Even if they were above the clouds and out of sight, the stars always hung high in my mind. The beauty of stars is in their spacing, constellation would simply be sunshine with out the space. While sunshine has its place, stars seem brighter because of the darkness around them.

I can be my own star. My family, friends and lovers will make beautiful constellations with me. separate in there connections, it is the space between two beautiful bodies that makes up see how precious each one is. I am my own north star (just as we all are) and there are shooting stars blazing by me and other fixed points of light in my sky. All stars burn out in time, but their light shines on long after they are gone.

Just burn as bright as you can my loves and I will pick out of the billions and others will see pictures in our proximity.

  1. I've been rewatching Sagan's /Cosmos/ lately -- it's available in its entirety on hulu. Minor nitpick (sorry): the stars move like bits of waffle in thick syrup, but are fixed in human timescales.
